 Sponsor | Ewtn2000 | May 9, 2007 1:12pm | | So all homo-sapiens fall under modern man, is that what you are saying? |

| eat | May 9, 2007 1:12pm | | Yes. |

Sponsor | Ewtn2000 | May 9, 2007 1:18pm | | interesting... So you agree with Milford Wolpoff about H. erectus, H. ergaster, and H. heidelbergensis all being the exact same being that we are today. I always read that these come to the development of modern man. Not that modern man, unchanged lived then... |

| eat | May 9, 2007 1:25pm | Those species would be distinguishable from modern man (whereas homo sapiens would not). They all have smaller cranial capacities than homo sapiens, indicating smaller brains. The rate at which their tools were innovated was also drastically slower than that of homo sapiens. There are other differences, like language, that differentiate us from them as well. There is growing agreeing among molecular biologists that the acquisition of language in homo sapiens may have been facilitated by the FOXP2 gene (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FOXP2 [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FOXP2]).
While I love science, I would prefer to keep the conversation focused on the genealogies of Genesis and their contradiction of science. |

Sponsor | Ewtn2000 | May 9, 2007 1:27pm | | So all the findings show that it was modern man that live 70,000 years ago. ANd you have the problem with the math. |

| eat | May 9, 2007 1:31pm | | There is no problem with the math. The ages (given in numbers) at which men fathered their sons, from Adam to Abraham, are given in post 215. It is simple addition. |

| JRyanStevens | May 9, 2007 1:36pm | | 246. those are different species from homo sapiens. and they're much older than ~70,000 years. |

| eat | May 9, 2007 1:51pm | 248: The math is laid out below. The numbers correspond to the age at which each man (the name in parentheses) gave birth to a son (the proceeding name in parentheses):
130+105+90+70+65+162+65+187+182+500+100+35+30+34+30+32+30+29+70
130 (Adam) + 105 (Seth) + 90 (Enosh) + 70 (Kenan) + 60 (Mahalalel) + 162 (Jared) + 65 (Enoch) + 187 (Methuselah) + 182 (Lamech) + 500 (Noah) + 100 (Shem) + 35 (Arphaxad) + 30 (Shelah) + 34 (Eber) + 30 (Peleg) + 32 (Reu) + 30 (Serug) + 29 (Nahor) + 70 (Teher, who fathered Abraham) = 1946
There are 52 generations between Abraham and Jesus ( |

| fireforchrist | May 9, 2007 1:58pm | I come up with a slightly different date for Abraham = 2008c
Haran, Nachor, and Abraham were not triplets.
Terah was 75 years old when he fathered Haran
Terah was 200 years old when Abraham was 70 |
